We are delighted to share that Ruth Benson, a Hillsborough County Medical Foster Parent, has been selected to attend the 2025 Heroes Reception at the Florida Governor’s Mansion. Ruth is a true Hero for children who has served as a Medical Foster Parent for 19 years, helping 54 children (not including those she helped with temporary foster care). She is licensed by CNHC partner Children’s Home Network.

Ruth will join the Governor, First Lady, and other Heroes from across the state “whose commendable actions and fortitude elevate Florida communities” at the reception. Children’s Network of Hillsborough is pleased to help her enjoy this well-deserved honor by providing a hotel room for Ruth and her daughter on the night of the celebration.
