Genevieve Désarmé immigrated from Jamaica in 1987 to Miami, Florida.  She holds a master’s degree in Accounting and a master’s degree in computer information systems.  Genevieve earned a Doctorate of Philosophy degree in Organization Leadership in 2015 and also taught accounting at the University of Phoenix in Tampa.  She has worked in non-profit industry for over 19 years.  She began her career in Child Welfare in 2003 with Children’s Network of Southwest Florida and has come full circle as the Controller at Children’s Network of Hillsborough.

Genevieve is married with a son and 3 step-children and is very involved with youth ministries at her church.  Her goal is to ensure that she is doing her part to improve the life of the children in care.
