Alice-Lydia Bird brings over 21 years of combined progressive leadership experience in the fields of childcare, education administration, grants management, compliance, optimization, and strategic planning. Her educational credentials include a Bachelor of Arts in Developmental Psychology, and a Master of Business Administration with a specialization in Project Management, which have laid a strong foundation for her impactful career.

Her professional journey began in her family’s home country of Antigua & Barbuda, where she served as a 3rd Grade Teacher and Assistant Principal. Upon relocating to Florida, Alice-Lydia held several high-impact roles, including Program Director of a Charter School and Program Development Specialist for the University of Florida’s College of Education (Lastinger Center), where she led program compliance and development for the 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21st CCLC) across Monroe, Miami-Dade, and Broward counties.

She further advanced her career as a Programs Manager at the Children’s Services Council of Broward County, overseeing the programmatic compliance of provider contracts. Most recently, she dedicated over 12 years to the YMCA of South Florida, where she served as Vice President of Youth Development for last five years. In this capacity, she led a department of operators and case managers that served over 4,300 (K-12th grade) at-risk youth daily across more than 80 program sites throughout Broward and Miami-Dade counties. Her leadership encompassed the writing, management and compliance oversight of numerous local, state, and federal grants. Her fiscal responsibility encompassed the management of over $13.4 million in grants and fee-based annual revenue. She is also a passionate advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion, recognized as a 2024 South Florida Business Journal Diverse Voice Award honoree.
