2023 Florida Children and Families Summit

The 2023 Florida Children and Families Summit was held September 6-8 in Orlando at the JW Marriott.  Our Children’s Network team were present, and we were able to establish and enhance connections and partnerships with providers, colleagues, and stakeholders throughout the week.

The Circuit 13 Community Break Out Session was held on September 8th prior to the close of the Summit.   Terri Balliet CEO and Kim Willliams COO provided an overview of Children’s Network performance over the last year and discussed the vision and goals for Hillsborough County moving forward.  Additional information was provided from Samantha Taylor, DCF Child Welfare Director, David Hernandez, Sr. Director of Intensive Family Services, Sarah Hawk, Managing Attorney for Children’s Legal Services and a special presentation from Foster Parents Gloria and Ryan Solano.  The Solano family has been fostering for over two years in Hillsborough County and shared their experience caring for foster children and partnering with both case managers and the biological families to provide a safe environment while working together towards reunification.  A special thank you to the Solano family and all our foster parents for the care and compassion they show daily for our children.
