Board Member
Laura began work at TECO during her senior year of college the University of South Florida, where she received a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering in 1993.
Her career at TECO has spanned a broad range of energy policy specialties including Environmental, Regulatory, Resource Planning, Business Strategy and External Affairs. In her role as Vice President she led the company’s efforts regarding federal, state and regional policy issues, including community investment and economic development, and created strategic alignment of external stakeholder partnerships and advocacy. Laura retired from TECO in late 2022 after more than 27 years of service.
Laura currently serves on the University of South Florida Foundation Board of Trustees and over her professional career has served on the Florida Chamber Foundation Board of Trustees, the Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce Executive Committee of the board, Tampa Downtown Partnership’s Executive Committee of the board, Visit Tampa Bay Advisory Board, Westshore Alliance Executive Committee of the board, Leadership Tampa ’15 Alumnae, Leadership Florida Cornerstone Class XXXVII and other economic development and community organizations.
Laura and her husband, Tripp, are a lifelong residents of Tampa. They have two sons, Thatcher (20, sophomore at Virginia Tech) and Andrew (18, graduating senior at Berkeley Prep), who keep them busy.
